Who We Are &
What We Do

We are young changemakers empowering children in Nepal through education. Founded by students, led with passion, and driven by impact— we believe in change, one smile at a time.

We Are Change-Makers

We are dedicated optimists on a mission to create a safe, healthy, and educated future for every child. Our focus is on breaking the cycle of poverty by supporting the Samaanta Foundation, providing scholarships, mentorship, and resources to empower underprivileged students in Nepal through higher education.

Meet Our Team:
The Faces Behind the Mission

Hi, I am Vero

President

Every smile shared can change a life. My mission is to support students in Nepal with access to education and the tools to grow into confident, independent adults.

I’m a 23-year-old medical student in Innsbruck. The heart of this project began in 2019 when I volunteered at an orphanage in Kathmandu. The children’s joy and resilience inspired me to create something lasting.

Education is the foundation for real change. I’ve been fortunate to follow my dream of studying medicine – now I want to help others do the same.

Nature, culture, and curiosity have always driven me – from skiing and hiking to exploring new places. That same spirit led me to Nepal at 17, and eventually to founding Sharing a Smile, with my sister and close friends by my side.

Together, we’re turning smiles into futures.

Hi, I am Lucia

Social Media Manager

I’m currently studying Economics in Vienna, but my true passion extends far beyond academics. Traveling, exploring new cultures, and embarking on exciting projects have always been a driving force in my life. I love taking on new challenges and immersing myself in initiatives that can make a real difference.

From the very beginning, I’ve been part of Sharing a Smile, and I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far – and even more excited about what lies ahead.

Growing up in a safe and privileged environment – free from war, financial hardships, and with easy access to education – it’s easy to take these advantages for granted. The place and circumstances we are born into are purely a matter of chance. Unfortunately, not every child is granted the same opportunities in life. Through Sharing a Smile, I have learned just how privileged we are and how crucial education is in shaping one’s future. That’s why we are committed to ensuring that more children have access to the opportunities they deserve.

Hi, I am Johanna

Communications & Outreach Coordinator

I’m studying Psychology and love spending time in nature, especially in the mountains, while staying active through sports. I’ve been part of the Sharing a Smile team from the start, and it’s been rewarding to see our team and projects grow over the years. This journey has shown me the power of education to change lives and how essential it is to value access to basic rights and opportunities.

Many children, particularly girls, lack access to quality education, social security, and the freedom to shape their futures. Growing up in Luxembourg, I had the privilege of safety, education, and personal freedom, which allowed me to become an independent woman. Education helped me discover who I want to be.

I believe education is the key to a secure, self-determined future, empowering both girls and boys to follow their dreams. Through Sharing a Smile, I’m committed to providing children with holistic support, including education, nutrition, hygiene, privacy, and psychosocial care, to help them thrive.

Hi, I am Alexandra

Treasurer

Having grown up in Luxembourg, where attending school was a given, I’ve always felt a strong desire to help others have access to that same opportunity. Spending time in Nepal has opened my eyes to a world where education isn’t guaranteed.

The more time I spent there, the more I’ve come to admire the Nepali people, their resilience, their culture, their genuine joy for life. I truly believe in the power of education to create lasting change, and it’s a been humbling to support projects in the field that have a lasting impact and to see the community that forms around them. At Sharing a Smile, I manage the finances and help shape our long-term strategic vision.

When I’m not working on SAS, I spend my days in venture capital, investing in early-stage tech founders. And outside of that, I’m probably with family or friends outdoors, ideally up in the mountains or down by the sea.

Hi, I am Cedric

Event Manager

Currently in the last semester of my Business & Management Studies. In my free-time I love to be active, if it means going for a run, playing basketball or going to the gym, as long I can power myself out.

My up-bringing in Luxembourg always has given me access to the basic needs and more, which also includes education. This privilege has showed me the potential I have and this I want to share with people who don’t have that opportunity.

Being the newest Member I was encouraged to join Sharing A Smile, because I saw the passion and engagement of the whole team and the whole project.

Hi, I am Antoine

Technology Leader & Operations

I’m truly grateful to be part of Sharing a Smile, a project that reflects my values and desire to create lasting, positive change. My motivation has always been simple: to help others in meaningful ways.

From a young age, I’ve been moved by the struggles of underprivileged communities, especially children. Their resilience and hope, even in the face of hardship, continue to inspire me. I believe every small act—every smile, every opportunity—can spark real change.

As part of this team, I’m excited to contribute both technically and in day-to-day operations. But more than that, I’m driven by the shared vision of making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

The smiles we share, the challenges we overcome, and the progress we make together—these are the true signs of success. I’m proud to be on this journey, knowing that even the smallest actions can ripple outward with kindness and hope.
