Who We Are &
What We Do

We are young changemakers empowering children in Nepal through education. Founded by students, led with passion, and driven by impact— we believe in change, one smile at a time.

We Are Change-Makers

We are dedicated optimists on a mission to create a safe, healthy, and educated future for every child. Our focus is on breaking the cycle of poverty by supporting the Samaanta Foundation, providing scholarships, mentorship, and resources to empower underprivileged students in Nepal through higher education.

Meet Our Team:
The Faces Behind the Mission

Hi, I am Vero

President

Every smile shared can change a life. My mission is to support students in Nepal with access to education and the tools to grow into confident, independent adults.

I’m a 24-year-old medical student in Innsbruck. The heart of this project began in 2019 when I volunteered at an orphanage in Kathmandu. The children’s joy and resilience inspired me to create something lasting.

Education is the foundation for real change. I’ve been fortunate to follow my dream of studying medicine – now I want to help others do the same.

Nature, culture, and curiosity have always driven me – from skiing and hiking to exploring new places. That same spirit led me to Nepal at 17, and eventually to founding Sharing a Smile, with my sister and close friends by my side.

Together, we’re turning smiles into futures.

Hi, I am Lucia

Social Media Manager

I’m currently studying in Lisbon, but my true passion extends far beyond academics. Traveling, exploring new cultures, and embarking on exciting projects have always been a driving force in my life. I love taking on new challenges and immersing myself in initiatives that can make a real difference.

From the very beginning, I’ve been part of Sharing a Smile, and I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far – and even more excited about what lies ahead.

Growing up in a safe and privileged environment – free from war, financial hardships, and with easy access to education – it’s easy to take these advantages for granted. The place and circumstances we are born into are purely a matter of chance. Unfortunately, not every child is granted the same opportunities in life. Through Sharing a Smile, I have learned just how privileged we are and how crucial education is in shaping one’s future. That’s why we are committed to ensuring that more children have access to the opportunities they deserve.

Hi, I am Johanna

Communications & Outreach Coordinator

I have been part of the Sharing a Smile team since its beginning in 2020 and have seen both the team and our projects grow over the years. This experience has strengthened my belief in the power of education and the importance of access to basic rights and equal opportunities.

Many children, especially girls, still lack access to quality education, social security, and the freedom to shape their futures. Growing up in Luxembourg, I benefited from safety, education, and personal freedom. Education enabled me to become an independent woman and to discover who I want to be.

Through Sharing a Smile, I support children holistically by addressing education, nutrition, hygiene, privacy, and psychosocial well-being.

Alongside my work with Sharing a Smile, I study Clinical Psychology in Munich and stay active through various sports in the mountains.

Hi, I am Alexandra

Treasurer

Having grown up in Luxembourg, where attending school was a given, I’ve always felt a strong desire to help others have access to that same opportunity. Spending time in Nepal has opened my eyes to a world where education isn’t guaranteed.

The more time I spent there, the more I’ve come to admire the Nepali people, their resilience, their culture, their genuine joy for life. I truly believe in the power of education to create lasting change, and it’s a been humbling to support projects in the field that have a lasting impact and to see the community that forms around them. At Sharing a Smile, I manage the finances and help shape our long-term strategic vision.

When I’m not working on SAS, I spend my days in venture capital, investing in early-stage tech founders. And outside of that, I’m probably with family or friends outdoors, ideally up in the mountains or down by the sea.

Hi, I am Cedric

Event Manager

Currently in the last semester of my Business & Management Studies. In my free-time I love to be active, if it means going for a run, playing basketball or going to the gym, as long I can power myself out.

My up-bringing in Luxembourg always has given me access to the basic needs and more, which also includes education. This privilege has showed me the potential I have and this I want to share with people who don’t have that opportunity.

Being the newest Member I was encouraged to join Sharing A Smile, because I saw the passion and engagement of the whole team and the whole project.

Hi, I am Antoine

Technology Leader & Operations

I’m truly grateful to be part of Sharing a Smile, a project that reflects my values and desire to create lasting, positive change. My motivation has always been simple: to help others in meaningful ways.

From a young age, I’ve been moved by the struggles of underprivileged communities, especially children. Their resilience and hope, even in the face of hardship, continue to inspire me. I believe every small act—every smile, every opportunity—can spark real change.

As part of this team, I’m excited to contribute both technically and in day-to-day operations. But more than that, I’m driven by the shared vision of making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

The smiles we share, the challenges we overcome, and the progress we make together—these are the true signs of success. I’m proud to be on this journey, knowing that even the smallest actions can ripple outward with kindness and hope.

Hi, I am Carla

Public Relations

Ever since I was little I have felt a drive to help others around me, a desire that has only grown stronger throughout my life. Recognising how fortunate I am to be born where I was, have the support system that I have and the societal structure that enables my dreams has profoundly shaped who I am.

In pursuit of my dreams of acquiring an international degree, I moved to a city where I did not know a single person. A leap of faith that turned into years filled with transformative experiences where I moved to new places and travelled a bunch, by myself as a woman. While it was enough for me to be brave and listen to my dreams, this, unfortunately, is not the case for everyone. Whether through working with children with disabilities or witnessing resilience in less-privileged communities around the world, I have grown to deeply respect the strength of people facing systemic inequalities.

This is why I am beyond excited to be part of the Sharing a Smile team where we empower young adults through education and holistically supporting them on their journeys. I am proud that my path has led me here and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and the people that have shared their smiles with me. Every single one has had an impact on me and I believe that, together, we can have a lasting impact too.

Hi, I am Tania

Marketing

I’m currently studying at the School of Creativity in Belgium, where I focus on coming up with new ideas and brainstorming creative solutions. I’m energetic, always up for new adventures, and enjoy taking on challenges. Travelling, exploring new cultures, and meeting new people constantly broaden my perspective.

Studying abroad and meeting people from all over the world made me realise how privileged my upbringing in Luxembourg was. Access to education opens doors, creates opportunities, and is the foundation for a fulfilled life.

This realisation is what motivated me to join Sharing a Smile. Through the project, I’m excited to use my creativity and skills with purpose, supporting children’s access to education and helping create opportunities for a more self-determined future.

Hi, I am Max

Partnerships Coordinator

Over the years I’ve attended several Sharing a Smile events and have many friends who have been or still are a part of the group. Seeing the real impact the program has had on students and their different stories truly impressed me and motivated me to get more involved.

I’ve previously worked in the sponsoring department at university in Munich and I’m excited to now use that experience and actively contribute to Sharing a Smile.

I’ve had the chance to travel a lot and experience many different cultures around the globe, which has strongly shaped my perspective on education. No matter how different our cultures, backgrounds and life situations are, every child or young adult should have the opportunity to build their future through education.

Even though I’ve never been to Nepal (yet), I’m inspired by the work being done there and excited to help give even more Nepalese students the opportunity to study and complete their education.

Hi, I am Theo

Events Planning and Execution

I am currently in the final semester of my Master’s degree in European Law.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors; whether running, cycling, or hiking.

I have recently joined Sharing a Smile, but my engagement goes beyond this organization, as I am actively involved in various youth movements.

All of my commitments are closely linked to education, driven by my belief that every young person should have equal opportunities to learn and grow.
In this context, joining Sharing a Smile perfectly aligns with my broader objective, as we enable Nepalese students to access education and pursue their dreams.

As part of the organization, I will be supporting the event team in organizing activities throughout the year, and I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming events!
